Our house mover arrives!

About the time our house mover (Bert) was set to arrive, Joel and Laura did one last thing that needed to be accomplished. They removed the siding "skirt" from around the front porch. It will return once the house is set on its new foundation, but has to be removed so beams can go through.

Speaking of beams.....
The beams that will carry the house arrived! Bert dropped them off on the driveway. Progress. Great things are about to start happening.

Two, 52-foot long double I-beams will go under the house.

Back deck came off, holes were punched in the foundation, and the beams went through!
Beams are supported by cribbing (piers) set up in the basement. This is basically a short tower of large blocks of wood (similar to railroad ties). Jacks will go on each of these four piers and that is where the lifting will occur.
On close look, you can see the beams coming out under the front porch.
