Today (Friday) was spent taking care of a few details before the move on Monday. The previous owners had a Direct TV dish on the roof. That will be a problem with tree branches along the route, so it needed to come down. Bert also pointed out a couple of branches along the route that needed to be trimmed a bit more (most trimming was done a few weeks ago by the city tree trimmer). And, we confirmed a person to actually pull the house with a tractor. Our excavator guy didn't have anything to do it, and Bert wanted something more than his truck. So that's lined up. We know which signs need to come down (street sign, stop sign, etc) and we've talked to people on the route who need to move cars out of the way. Bert then finished up with footing tile and Joel and I went to Menards to buy supplies that will soon be needed in the house. Nine o'clock Monday morning is still moving time.
The current view from the front porch. The fenced area is where the house was originally.
Joel on the roof to take the TV dish down.
The ladder was too short or the roof too tall, but we made it work.
